Stardust Alert! Navy & Silver Wedding

Nicole and Gabe's celestial-inspired wedding theme was brought to life in every aspect of their wedding planning from start to finish. A little Great Gatsby and a lot of stardust can be seen throughout their stellar day. The Iron Gate Restaurant, located near Dupont Circle, is one of Washington DC's oldest continuously operating restaurants and features a wisteria covered patio, set the stage for their wedding day.
The couple chose my Nocturne wedding invitations for their Save the Dates and Wedding suite. I tinted the paper a deep navy blue and printed a silver metallic foil in an intricate Art Deco design. The original graphics are from the early 1920's and feature a rustic geometric and starburst illustration. I designed and printed a set of matching his and hers vow books to complete the suite. I love keeping my designs with a slight weathered graphic line so they look authentically hand-drawn and vintage and not computer made or AI generated. I think that is what sets Gilded Swan Paperie from most every other stationer out there- Designers often rely on modern stock imagery for a sleek lean line. You would have never seen anything like that in the 1920-s or 1930's-- everything was done by hand. Everything!
Nicole's stunning dress was from Flora and Lane- and it was a show stopper! How gorgeous that it matched her invitations? Lisa Rhinehart Photography captured the star-studded day in such a lovely and thoughtful way. Please check out the full gallery below:
