A Glamorous and Colorful French Wedding

Like something from the Gilded Age, Mary and Sage threw the wedding of the century in the stunning French country side. Their event took place at the Château de Varennes, a 400 year-old residence in the heart of the Burgundy region of France.

Mary and Sage chose my vintage-inspired peacock wedding invitation suite to announce their big day. The swirls of blue, green, gold and pink coupled with the elegant script typeface created a very colorful and "French" vibe. Pops of yellow throughout the suite adorned the invitation, as well as on the place cards and on that incredible, towering cake designed by George Winterford!

Your wedding invitations are announcements, keepsakes and ultimately, the only thing you have left of your wedding day except your spouse, your rings and your photographs. They are pivotal in setting the tone of your wedding. Start researching early, make a mood board, get on Pinterest and above all else-- order physical samples.

When choosing a stationery suite, it's important that it compliments the rest of the details of the day. They don't have to be matchy-matchy... rather, you want your stationery to be inspired by and set a bit apart from the rest of your items. When everything matches too much, it can cause a visual overload with no hierarchy of color. And no, there were no other peacocks or peacock themes in Mary and Sage's wedding day-- just on the invitation and that was perfectly enough!
